Another Great Show in Madison

1/31/2024

Saturday, January 27, 2024, Sheraton Hotel, Madison, WI

A week of foggy conditions in my little burg prepared me for the foggy morning ride up to Madison. I am always worried that there will be a truck stopped ahead on the road in the fog and I will slam into the back of it. I did see a few trucks on the side of the road, thankfully, none stopped in the middle of the road!

I was a little late arriving to the show. I could not get out of bed, as usual. I arrived around 8:30 a.m. and saw droves of customers piling into the hotel. It took me two trips on the hotel cart to get all my display cases, 10 total, to the upstairs ballroom where I was placed next to my pal Tom Mularz and behind good guy John Boomer.

I did not finish loading up the display cases until 10 a.m. I find it very stressful to load the display cases while customers are hovering about and some ask to see cards before I finish loading all the cases. That will teach me to get to the show late. I really need to arrive early when I bring out the display cases!

My father and son football guys both purchased some cards. I love these guys. As I've stated before, I think the dad was my very first Madison customer years ago when I regularly set up at Darren's shows. Ken found some 1958's. A couple of guys purchased some piles, which were much appreciated.

A young guy purchased a T206 common. Kevin purchased my 1954 Red Heart Red Nellie Fox. Big Mike purchased some cards. A regular customer purchased a bunch of 1952 Bowman baseball, just about cleared me out. Randy, who is working on Cubs sets, purchased several 1951 Bowman Cubs. Quite a few new customers purchased cards today. I remember I sold a few basketball cards. I was surprised I did not sell any hockey cards. The big winner today was a new customer who purchased a nice pile of stuff. I was very pleased with my sales today.

On the buying front, a guy I have known forever, but for the life of me cannot remember his name, sold me a near set of 1971-72 Topps basketball. I think I am missing just 14 cards. Instead of breaking up the set, I am leaning towards completing it, though I need some of the biggies like Lou Alcindor and Jerry West. He also had some high-end slabbed vintage for sale, but I just had enough funds for the basketball. I advised he try Big Mark, Tom and Gary George. I think he ended up selling most of it to Mark.

I was pumped to see Tim Fritz, one of my all-time favorite guys in the hobby. Tim says he is on the mend from some serious health issues and hopes to attend more shows. I also enjoyed chatting with John and Mike from Premier Card Shows.

It was a pretty great day. The show was packed. It got really hot for a while in the room. I guzzled down some ice-cold Mountain Dews which helped deal with the heat.

The Madison show has just been solid of late. I can't wait for the next one on February 24, 2024! Kudos to Beau for running another great show!! It may be a two-hour ride to Madison, but this show is just too good to miss!! I plan on attending as many Madison shows as I can in 2024.

A lot of the dealers were asking me for space in Oak Creek. Unfortunately, the Oak Creek show is sold out indefinitely. I am taking names for my waiting list. Interested parties can email me at [email protected].

Speaking of Oak Creek, the next show is this Saturday, February 3, 2024. Again, I have sold out 180 tables. Should be another fun show. I think I am going to be set up in the same spot across from Lake Country Cards in the back hallway. I may move to another spot if some knucklehead no-shows me. Beau and I were talking about no-show dealers and what a headache it is and how these guys make it so difficult to operate a show.

Anyway, the Madison show was great and I am looking forward to a great Oak Creek show this Saturday! Hope you can make it to Oak Creek!!!

The Orland Park Show is AWESOME!

Sunday, January 21, 2024, Civic Center, Orland Park, IL

Slow arriving crowd, as usual. My first sale of the day was to Terry who purchased my 1961 Topps Robin Roberts. We looked over to Record Store Steve's table which had a crowd. Eventually, the crowd made its way to us.

Speaking of the crowd, by 10 a.m. the place was jammed. You could not even walk through the aisles. Huge crowd today! Another great job by Rich, Karen and the crew!!

Andy is always one of the first guys to hit my tables. He found some football cards. Thanks Andy! Vietnam Vet Jim spent some time in my discount boxes along with several other guys. A new customer wiped out my 1949 Bowman baseball. Will was happy I finally reloaded my 1954 Bowman baseball.

On the other hand, the nice couple working on 1977 Topps, were not happy I did not bring out that binder. I did not bring out most of my 1970's binders because they are soooo empty right now. Eventually I'll get them reloaded.

I have a regular customer that always comes with his mother. He worked on the discount boxes today. A new customer purchased my 1960 Topps Nellie Fox. Chris purchased my Red Man Casey Stengel. Thanks Chris! A new customer was the big winner today. He purchased Exhibits of Sandy Koufax, Eddie Mathews and Hank Aaron. Quite a few guys purchased cards from my discount boxes, binders and display cases. Thank you everyone!

I put out the 1975 and 1974 Topps baseball sets I purchased in Appleton a few months ago. No takers. I was surprised.

On the buying front, I purchased a few boxes of 1972 and 1969 Topps baseball. I don't need cards from these years but the price was right and I could not resist. I have a problem.

There are no problems with Jim who always brings me some nice cards. I picked up a nice group including a 1961 Topps Stan Musial, Willie Mays, and 1963 Topps Hank Aaron and Ernie Banks. Thanks for the cards Jim!

Milan stopped by to show me the Goudey Hornsby he purchased from me last month and got slabbed by SGC. It only garnered a 2.5 which neither of us can understand. There is a small, light wrinkle on the surface which is really hard to see. Other than the wrinkle, the card is perfect. Milan said he is going to submit it to PSA.

Like most shows, the Orland show is more than just a card show, it is a social event. I enjoyed chatting with regulars like Chris, Paul, Eddie and Rick. It is always great to see these guys!

Now for a little rant: I am set up to sell to vintage set builders -- those are my people. I will sell to anyone but I cater to set builders. I buy cards with set builders in mind. I organize my cards with set builders in mind. I prefer to sell cards to set builders.

Yet, for some reason, I always get quite a few resellers at my tables. I do not cater to resellers. I do not offer big discounts. I do not sell in bulk. I prefer not to sell to resellers.

Generally, I do not mind them but there are always a few that make crazy offers. Today, for example, there was a guy who came by my tables five or six times. I have seen him before and I think he has purchased cards from me in the past. Today, he kept looking at the cards in my display cases. He did not ask about any of the cards. He just stood in front of the cases and stared at the cards on several occasions.

Near the end of the show, he told me he was a reseller and was interested in my $1 box. Mind you, the cards in the $1 box are already discounted. I could sell most of them for $3 to $4 each, if I wanted. Anyway, Mr. Reseller says he wants all the cards but is only willing to pay 35 cents each. No way! Bye!

Why would I sell cards valued at $3 to $4 that I discounted to $1 for just 35 cents. I cannot purchase them that cheap. This guy is totally off his rocker!!

Many of the resellers drool at my inventory. They do not realize the work involved and the money spent in obtaining this inventory. I set up at shows most every weekend and buy cards. I always network like crazy and pick up cards between shows. Then I spend a ton of time organizing and pricing these cards. When I place these beauties out on my show tables, they are for the set builders, not the resellers, especially the low-ballers. Those guys can bite me.

Despite this low-ball reseller, I had a really enjoyable day, as is always the case in Orland. Will, Joe and I capped off the day at the sub shop.

Next Orland show is slated for February 18, 2024. I will be there! Low-ball resellers, please stay away!!

In the meantime, I am setting up in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Sheraton Hotel on John Nolan Drive on Saturday, January 27, 2024. I am bringing out display cases. If anyone wants to see any of the binders, please let me know ASAP.

Next Oak Creek show is slated for February 3, 2024. I have been busy contacting all the dealers. I am currently at 180 tables. I still have more dealers to contact. If some drop out, I will contact the guys on the wait list. Dealers who have not confirmed with me yet, please do so!

See you guys in Madison!!

Pictured below are some customers dinking through my binders and discount boxes at the January 21st Orland show.

We have had some Jeckyl and Hyde weather around here lately. One week temperatures  were all below zero. This past week temperatures were in the 30's and 40's which has left a crazy fog over the north suburbs of Chicago. Pictured below is the sleepy hallow between my house and my neighbor's house.

Warning, you never want to walk on the left side where my neighbors have an array of lights because they leave their dog out over there and he just poops and poops and they rarely clean it up.

Pleasant Day in Woodstock, Illinois

Saturday, January 20, 2024, Woodstock North High School, Woodstock, IL

I think I am finally starting to get a regular group of customers at the Woodstock show. The only way to make it work at a small show like this one is to have a nice group of regulars. I appreciate all the guys who came to see me! I really like this show. The venue is great, the promoter is great, and the vendors are great.

One of the things I really enjoy is that Curtis, the promoter, brings his stereo and plays some great classic rock music during the whole show. It is real enjoyable selling cards and listening to a little Led Zeppelin.

I ended up with two tables for January. I brought out some binders and discount boxes. Joe sat at the boxes for most of the morning and pulled out an entire row from my dime box. Thanks Joe!

I enjoyed chatting with Jeff, who I learned lives near me in beautiful Lake County, Illinois. Jeff purchased a few cards and sold me a cigar box of 1971 Topps baseball. Thanks Jeff! Rich and his son came out and purchased some cards. Thanks guys!

Scott was there, as usual, and purchased some cards. Thanks Scott! Willie made the trip and purchased some 1971-72 Topps basketball. Thanks Willie! A bunch of new customers dinked through the binders and the discount boxes. Thanks for the purchases everyone!

I was set up today next to the Jeff Peterson. It is always great to see Jeff!

I was delighted to learn the concession stand was open today. I enjoyed a hot dog that they called a brat, but it was a hot dog, not a brat.

I enjoyed chatting with Larry, Kevin, Mike H., and others. Thanks for the pleasant conversation guys!

It was a nice day and I enjoyed myself. Next Woodstock show is slated for February 17. I should be there.

Next up for me is the Madison Show this Saturday, January 27, 2024. I am planning to bring out display cases because I haven't really gotten any binders reloaded since last month. I am still working on my 1969 Topps baseball binder. I also started working on my 1979-80 Topps hockey binder. One of these days, I'll get these things reloaded!

The next Oak Creek show is coming up quick on February 3, 2024. I will have a full house again with 180 tables. My waiting list is getting out of hand. I wish I had space for everyone who wants to set up!

I hope to see everyone Saturday in Madison!

Now on a completely different note, my folks are currently in Florida and I am taking care of their condo in Chicago while they are away. I found these gems, pictured below, there last week.

Pictured above is a newspaper article from either 1977 or 1978. My sister Lori, middle, starred on the Glenbrook North High School (Northbrook, Illinois) gymnastics team. Lori is currently an ER nurse in Colorado Springs.

Pictured above is a photo of my grandparents from the 1950's. This was the first time I have seen this photo. I wonder where my pops found this photo? My grandmother Dorothy Gordon was a 1925 graduate of Chicago's Tuley High School. She died in the mid-1990's. I think my grandfather Phil, also attended Tuley. Gramps worked at the Curtiss Candy Co., originators of the Baby Ruth and Butterfingers candy bars. The factory was located in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood. Gramps died in the early 1980's. My fondest memories of my grandparents are when they would regularly take me to the amusement park Kiddieland in Melrose Park, Illinois, in the early 1970's. They were wonderful people. Very loving.

800 People Thru The Door in Oak Creek!

Saturday, January 6, 2024, Salvation Army Community Center, Oak Creek, WI

I was in the hospital the weekend before the December Oak Creek show, as a result, I had a real tough time putting the show together. I think I only had 165 or 170 tables because I did not have the time or the energy to contact dealers on the wait list. So I was determined to fill all 180 spots for the January show, but I did not expect it to be so much work!

I probably contacted 40 or 50 additional dealers from the wait list. Only half or so bothered to reply. Then there were those with a million questions and I spent way too much time going back and forth. In the end, I added 20 or so new dealers for the December show.

One doosh bag cancelled the night before the show because I could not guarantee the spot he had back in the fall -- not a legit reason to cancel in my book.  A couple other guys no-showed which just amazes me when people confirm during the week of the show then do not call, do not text, and do not show up. Needless to say, these guys and the doosh are not setting up again because I have the luxury of a large wait list and can just work the list in the hopes of finding dealers who will show up.

It was hectic preparing for this show. In the week prior, I had a steady stream of folks dropping out and coming in. Luckily, a few guys cancelled that morning because I had way overbooked and I did not have space to set up my own stuff. It was a tight squeeze with 178 tables sold. I could have added a couple more dealers the night before but I just wanted to set up the building and hit the sack.

I was late arriving at the Salvation Army on Friday night. Thankfully, my helpers George and Kristy are the nicest people in the world and did not mind the delay. They also stopped and picked up sandwiches. Thanks guys!

It took me, Lisa, George and Kristy, several hours to set everything up. I ended up giving myself a spot in the back hallway, across from Lake Country Cards. I wonder if there is a better way to set up the Game Room where I can fit more dealers? Anybody have any suggestions? Maybe I should just leave it be.

Also, any dealers that want to set up Friday night, come on out and bring in your tables and cases. I don't know about leaving your cards in the building overnight.

Anyway, I am on soooo many meds these days and am having a difficult time sleeping. Tough night of sleep before the show. Also, there had been a light snow in the wee hours of the morning and the roads were messy. It snowed lightly all day which gave me a worry. A couple of dealers driving in from Northern Wisconsin said the roads were icy up their way. One dealer from up north called to cancel because of the roads -- glad he did because I needed his table!

The lousy weather did not seem to stop anyone else from attending. We ended up with 800 customers through the door and wall to wall dealers. It was a great day!

I brought out binders and sales were steady, though, not as strong as last month. I purchased a small stack of graded cards from Mark's sister Heather. She gave me a nice price. Thanks Heather!

After the show, I always ask a number of dealers how they did. Reports this month were all over the place where some dealers said sales were meh, most said sales were good, while one dealer said it was his best show ever and donated his table to the Salvation Army.

Even though I was tired, I sure did enjoy myself. Thank you everybody! I am amazed every month as we continue to pack 'em into Oak Creek. Afterwards, my phone was ringing off the hook with requests for tables for the February 3 show -- which is how I know a show is a success.

I am currently way overbooked for February 3 with around 190 tables sold. I can't fit everyone in, so I am hoping and praying that 10 or so dealers drop out before show time. If you want to join my growing wait list, send me an email at [email protected].

Up next for me as a dealer is a double-bill weekend with Woodstock on Saturday, January 20, 2024, and Orland on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

See you this weekend!

Below are some photos Lisa and I took at the January 6 Oak Creek show.

I know I have been having a rough go of late because of health issues but in reality life is great because I get to hang out with these knuckleheads in Oak Creek every month -- Jeremy, Larry, and Stan. You guys rule!

Thankful I Was Not Murdered

Saturday, December 29, 2023, Sheraton Hotel, Madison, WI

Never fails, at every show someone wants to know where I purchase my inventory. The vast majority of my purchases come from the shows, as I report regularly in this blog. Occasionally, I'll buy something online but rarely. I can't remember the last time I bought anything on eBay, other than supplies. It has been a while since I purchased something from an auction house as well.

Recently, I was notified of a collection for sale through Facebook Marketplace. I have purchased some furniture from FB Marketplace in the past, but never cards. The collection was nice, mostly 1956 Topps and 1957 Topps baseball. I could not help myself but reply.

The seller posted some photos of about 600 raw cards. I made a low offer, guessing many of the cards were rough and/or creased. It was tough to tell from the photos. The seller countered and I asked if I could see the cards before purchasing them. We made a date to meet at a Subway sandwich shop in Wisconsin, about two hours away from my house.

Afterwards, I started to freak myself out. What if this guy takes my money and kills me? I gave him my cell phone number but he would not give me his cell phone number. Red flag. The more I thought about it, the more I thought I was setting myself up to die.

When the day came to meet. I was feeling lousy with my blood sugar crazy high, so I cancelled, thinking I did not want to meet this guy anyway because he was probably going to shoot me and take my money. Yet, I suggested we meet at the December 29 Madison show.

I never confirmed because I was very sickly in the weeks prior to the show. Well, what do you know? The seller showed up at the show. Found me and had the cards, no gun or knife. He seemed like a nice guy, not a killer. He said he inherited the cards from his brother-in-law, who recently died.

Problem. I did not bring any money with me outside of table fee and small bills to make change. I remember that my pal Gary George once offered to cover me on a deal at a previous show where I failed to have the funds for purchase. I had the seller watch my table while I went over to Gary's table and asked for a loan. Gary is the best! He did not hesitate and gave me the money which I in turn gave to the seller and received the cards.

By the end of the day, I was able to make a down-payment to Gary. I paid him off the following week in Oak Creek. Thank you Gary!

I just love buying cards. It is so fun to obtain a nice collection. I think if I find collections again on Facebook Marketplace, I'll have the sellers meet me at a show. I feel pretty safe I won't get murdered at a card show.

Anyway, I brought out the binders this month in Madison and I was busy all day! The show was packed!! Promoter Beau is a superstar. He runs an awesome show!

My buddy Rod and his wife came down from Marathon, WI, and just about cleaned out my 1970 Topps binder. I actually owe Rod some money after purchasing a near set of 1955 Topps baseball. Thanks Rod!

Many other guys went through the binders and pulled cards. I had a really nice day both selling and buying cards. Success! It was a great way to end the year!

Unfortunately, I am still struggling with multiple health issues including diabetes, high blood pressure, and an enlarged prostate. I did not feel good in Madison but was real happy, regardless, because of excellent sales and purchases. Loading out was tough. I jammed all my stuff onto the hotel cart and made it out in one trip. I was crazy tired but made it home in one piece.

I am feeling much better as I write up this blog. I am looking forward to the next Madison show on January 27, 2024.

I have to apologize to anyone looking for me in Rockford on January 13, 2024. I was awake at 6 a.m. but observed that the street in front of my house had not been plowed. We had quite a snow storm on Friday into Saturday. I flipped on the TV and saw a news report showing that nothing was plowed in my town and the nearby towns. The newscasters also warned viewers to stay home as it continued to snow and temperature plummeted. I took their advice and cancelled. However, I did pay for my tables -- all dealers need to pay for their tables whether they show up or not. Those tables were my responsibility and I have no problem paying for them. Many folks don't realize that show promoters still have to pay the venue rental, whether dealers show up or not. So always pay for your tables!

The forecast for this upcoming weekend is sun and cold -- no snow. I'll take it! I have a double-bill weekend planned with Woodstock on Saturday, January 20, and Orland on Sunday, January 21. I am just taking one table at Woodstock. I love this show but I rarely sell much there. I am going to bring out most of my cheapy boxes to Woodstock. If you plan on attending and want to see something else, let me know!

For Orland, I will bring the cheapy boxes as well, along with baseball binders from 1949 to 1970, my older football binders, and a few basketball binders. I'll bring out a display case or two, as well, to make sure I have all three tables totally covered with cards.

I am working on my 1954 Bowman baseball binder and should have it done for Orland. I am also working on 1969 Topps baseball binder but won't have it done by this weekend. I am about a third done with that one. Hopefully, I'll finish it up soon!

I also bought another collection this week as an old friend alerted me to one of her friends who was moving to Texas and wanted to dump his cards. The collection was mostly 1974 to 1979 Topps baseball and 1977 to 1978 Topps football. There was some other stuff in there like some Hostess cards from the 1970's, some 1977-78 Topps hockey along with some oddball stuff. This was the seller's childhood collection and everything is sorted by team -- ugh! I can probably make some sets but it will take me a while to place everything in numerical order. There were some stars in there as well like a '72 Ryan, two '75 Brett rookies, a '73 Clemente and Aaron, and a smattering more. It was fun to go through it.

Next Oak Creek show is February 3. Dealer space is sold out. I am way overbooked. Ugh! I need some guys to drop out. My wait list is also growing. I can add you to the wait list if you send me an email at [email protected].

Anyway, I am looking forward to better health and to see everybody this weekend!

Thanks for all the well wishes guys!!

Monster Day in Orland!

1/11/2024

Sunday, December 17, 2023, Civic Center, Orland Park, IL

Double bill weekend with St. Charles on Saturday and Orland on Sunday. With my health suffering, I was wiped out Sunday and arrived in Orland late.

I had seven display cases out in St. Charles. With more space in Orland, I had 11 display cases. It took me a while to fill them up. My pals Will and Joe arrived while I was filling the cases and brought me some much needed food and coffee. Thanks guys!

Once again, Will saved my ass because I did not feel good. I could feel that my blood pressure was high and I needed to sit and zone out for a while. Thankfully, Will took care of my customers while I was glued to my chair.

It is really hard to feel too crappy when sales are phenomenal. I had a monster day! Every once in a while Pat is in a spending mood. He was in a spending mood today and pulled piles of stuff out of my display cases. Thanks Pat! Many other guys purchased cards as well. Thank you everybody!

I know I bought a bunch of stuff but my memory is fading. For the life of me, I can't remember what I bought. Orland is normally one of my best shows for buying... and selling.

I remember having quite a few great conversations. However, there is one guy at this show who always has to talk religion and politics -- two subjects that I absolutely hate discussing. I just let him spew and don't participate. Can we talk about something else, please? My eyes just glaze over when the religious and political discussions start. I don't want to hear it. Thankfully, most card show conversations are about two things I love -- cards and sports. If you want my attention, don't talk religion and politics, talk cards and sports.

I was pretty much out of it most of the day. Just not feeling well. I had to skip the sub shop after the show because I had to pick up my daughter from work.

Overall, 2023 was a great year in Orland. My sales were excellent. I also bought a ton of stuff. I am looking forward to 2024 in Orland. First show of the year is slated for January 21.

In the meantime, Rockford this Saturday, January 13, 2024. Next Oak Creek show is February 3.

I went and saw my primary physician this morning. He is very concerned. I have all sorts of problems. Most of them I don't even understand. He prescribed more meds, along with a glucose meter that will be imbedded in my arm. For some reason, my blood glucose went out of whack. The doctor also recommended a specialist. I am sooo tired of feeling like crap!!!

Oh well. Maybe one day I'll feel better. Anyway, I really appreciate everyone in Orland. I just had silly sales at this past show and am looking forward to January 21.

Hopefully, I'll see you in Rockford on Saturday if Mother Nature allows it!!

Another Nice Show In St. Charles

1/10/2024

Saturday, December 16, 2023, Kane County Fairgrounds, St. Charles, IL

This was the second edition of the St. Charles show. The first one was back in September and I brought out binders to that one. There was a nice crowd in September but the binders did not sell well. This time I brought out all display cases.

Tough load in and load out today because of a steady stream of rain all day long. My pals John and Mike placed me next to the famous Dave McDonald on one side and Jason Swanson on the other. Behind me was Jose Roman. Gary George was in our row as well. Jonathan, pictured above, was set up across from me.

I did not get a chance to walk the show but most customers said that me, Dave and Gary were about it for vintage -- which seems to be the case for most shows. Outside of the big shows along with the monthly's in Oak Creek and Orland, I just don't see much vintage... which is an ongoing problem for me as a vintage vendor. There are a ton of shows but I only set up at a select few because the others just don't bring out the vintage collectors. I continually see new shows popping up but I won't set up because I have no confidence these shows have any vintage, especially when the promoters are modern dealers.

Sales were up. I had a lot of new customers and a handful of regulars.  I purchased some nice groupings of 1963 Topps baseball and 1975 Topps Minis baseball that walked up to my tables. A random customer offered up some 1970 Topps Posters. These things are undervalued and don't sell for much. Thus, I don't pay much for them. Unique to this seller is that he created his own version of 1970 Topps baseball cards with the images of the posters. See picture below. He placed each of his cards in a penny sleave then placed the actual poster, folded up, behind the card in the penny sleave. While I thought this was very creative and neat, I still did not buy them, thinking they would be a tough sell.

I enjoyed some coffee and tea from the stand located in the lobby. They had some good-looking doughnuts but my blood glucose has been too high lately and I could not do it. There was also a taco truck parked in front of the building. I ended up eating a ham sandwich that Dave brought me.

Really nice crowd. This is an excellent show with excellent promoters. The next Kane County show is slated for March 10, 2024. I can't make that one as it conflicts with Orland. Though, I do recommend attending the March 10 Kane County show, along with Orland.

Next up for me is the Rockford show this Saturday, January 13, 2024. The weatherman predicts a terrible snow storm but, if I have learned anything over the years, I have learned that it is impossible to predict the weather. So I am not counting out the Rockford show just yet. Also, I attended one last year in a snow storm and it had a great crowd and my sales were awesome.

I have skipped a few shows over the years due to weather. On the morning of a potential snowy day, I always try to head to the shows and get a feel for the roads. If I find my car sliding then I turn back and go home and call it a day. As of now, I am planning to load my car Saturday morning and attempt to drive to the Rockford show. I sure hope the weatherman is wrong! I really want to go to the Rockford show!!

Next Oak Creek show is coming up on February 3, 2024. The show last weekend on January 6 was lights out. As a result, I have been inundated with messages for tables. I am very slow in responding and hope to get back to everyone soon!

Sorry for the delay in the blogs. I am still feeling lousy. I am going to keep trying different doctors to see if somone can fix me up.

I appreciate your support!

Another Excellent Janesville Show

Gawd, it has been forever since I was last set up in Janesville. Unfortunately, this show conflicts with some of my other regular shows and I cannot set up consistently. Anyway, it was good to be back!

Superstar promoters John and Mike placed me next to the great Nelson Rodriguez and family. I was also next to Two Tone Wax. Nice crowd as usual.

I was not feeling well, as seems to be the theme for me lately. I do not recommend diabetes. I also waited too long to write this blog and don't remember what I sold. I think I had decent sales. I do remember that I brought out display cases. On the buying front, my T206 guy was there and I picked up a few. I also purchased a box of cards from Terry Hatch.

The main thing I remember about this show is the delicious pulled pork sandwich I devoured from the barbecue stand. Oh my, that was good!

The next Janesville show is slated for February 17, 2024, and I plan on attending that one as well. Hopefully the barbecue guys will be back!

More on my health -- I have really been struggling these past few months. I am on new meds and making sure I am taking my insulin regularly. I am just starting to get my strength back and hope to be up to speed on my blogs soon!

No rest for the weary! Oak Creek is coming up on Saturday, January 6, 2024. I am soooo far behind on answering messages -- it is tough to respond when I can't get out of bed. Sorry everybody! I will respond this week!!
