I think I am finally starting to get a regular group of customers at the Woodstock show. The only way to make it work at a small show like this one is to have a nice group of regulars. I appreciate all the guys who came to see me! I really like this show. The venue is great, the promoter is great, and the vendors are great.
One of the things I really enjoy is that Curtis, the promoter, brings his stereo and plays some great classic rock music during the whole show. It is real enjoyable selling cards and listening to a little Led Zeppelin.
I ended up with two tables for January. I brought out some binders and discount boxes. Joe sat at the boxes for most of the morning and pulled out an entire row from my dime box. Thanks Joe!
I enjoyed chatting with Jeff, who I learned lives near me in beautiful Lake County, Illinois. Jeff purchased a few cards and sold me a cigar box of 1971 Topps baseball. Thanks Jeff! Rich and his son came out and purchased some cards. Thanks guys!
Scott was there, as usual, and purchased some cards. Thanks Scott! Willie made the trip and purchased some 1971-72 Topps basketball. Thanks Willie! A bunch of new customers dinked through the binders and the discount boxes. Thanks for the purchases everyone!
I was set up today next to the Jeff Peterson. It is always great to see Jeff!
I was delighted to learn the concession stand was open today. I enjoyed a hot dog that they called a brat, but it was a hot dog, not a brat.
I enjoyed chatting with Larry, Kevin, Mike H., and others. Thanks for the pleasant conversation guys!
It was a nice day and I enjoyed myself. Next Woodstock show is slated for February 17. I should be there.
Next up for me is the Madison Show this Saturday, January 27, 2024. I am planning to bring out display cases because I haven't really gotten any binders reloaded since last month. I am still working on my 1969 Topps baseball binder. I also started working on my 1979-80 Topps hockey binder. One of these days, I'll get these things reloaded!
The next Oak Creek show is coming up quick on February 3, 2024. I will have a full house again with 180 tables. My waiting list is getting out of hand. I wish I had space for everyone who wants to set up!
I hope to see everyone Saturday in Madison!
Now on a completely different note, my folks are currently in Florida and I am taking care of their condo in Chicago while they are away. I found these gems, pictured below, there last week.
