Double bill weekend with St. Charles on Saturday and Orland on Sunday. With my health suffering, I was wiped out Sunday and arrived in Orland late.
I had seven display cases out in St. Charles. With more space in Orland, I had 11 display cases. It took me a while to fill them up. My pals Will and Joe arrived while I was filling the cases and brought me some much needed food and coffee. Thanks guys!
Once again, Will saved my ass because I did not feel good. I could feel that my blood pressure was high and I needed to sit and zone out for a while. Thankfully, Will took care of my customers while I was glued to my chair.
It is really hard to feel too crappy when sales are phenomenal. I had a monster day! Every once in a while Pat is in a spending mood. He was in a spending mood today and pulled piles of stuff out of my display cases. Thanks Pat! Many other guys purchased cards as well. Thank you everybody!
I know I bought a bunch of stuff but my memory is fading. For the life of me, I can't remember what I bought. Orland is normally one of my best shows for buying... and selling.
I remember having quite a few great conversations. However, there is one guy at this show who always has to talk religion and politics -- two subjects that I absolutely hate discussing. I just let him spew and don't participate. Can we talk about something else, please? My eyes just glaze over when the religious and political discussions start. I don't want to hear it. Thankfully, most card show conversations are about two things I love -- cards and sports. If you want my attention, don't talk religion and politics, talk cards and sports.
I was pretty much out of it most of the day. Just not feeling well. I had to skip the sub shop after the show because I had to pick up my daughter from work.
Overall, 2023 was a great year in Orland. My sales were excellent. I also bought a ton of stuff. I am looking forward to 2024 in Orland. First show of the year is slated for January 21.
In the meantime, Rockford this Saturday, January 13, 2024. Next Oak Creek show is February 3.
I went and saw my primary physician this morning. He is very concerned. I have all sorts of problems. Most of them I don't even understand. He prescribed more meds, along with a glucose meter that will be imbedded in my arm. For some reason, my blood glucose went out of whack. The doctor also recommended a specialist. I am sooo tired of feeling like crap!!!
Oh well. Maybe one day I'll feel better. Anyway, I really appreciate everyone in Orland. I just had silly sales at this past show and am looking forward to January 21.
Hopefully, I'll see you in Rockford on Saturday if Mother Nature allows it!!
