Quite a few guys went through my binders pulling cards today like Randy, Chuck, Mort, Tim and many others. Thanks guys! I was pleased with the sale of a 1955 Topps Harmon Killebrew rookie to a new customer. My newly reloaded 1971 binder did not get as much action as I anticipated. I was ecstatic to see my buddy Chris today who drove up from the south suburbs. It has been a while since I have seen Chris. He and I made a nice trade. Thanks for the cards Chris!! Hope to see you again soon!! Jim Goodfriend made an appearance today. Jim said he is still selling cards on eBay but is not setting up at shows.
I also purchased a bunch of cards today including some 1952 and 1955 Topps. All and all a very good day. I had one of my better days selling and buying. Other dealers reported excellent sales as well.
Up next is Corky's Holiday Inn Show in Elgin on Saturday, December 13, 2014. This will be my second show in Elgin. I will have two tables up against one of the walls. I'm not all that excited to be up against the wall but I want to set up at this show and have to take what is available. I'm heading up to Milwaukee on Sunday, December 14, 2014, for the Gonzaga Show where I will have my usual four tables. The December show is usually the best attended Gonzaga show of the year. Over 500 people came through the door last year. Though, this one will be a bit somber with the recent passing of the legendary Milwaukee collector/dealer/fan Mike Rodell. My condolences to Mike's family. He will be sorely missed.
I have been pumping cards into my eBay store -- check it out here! I will have my 1972 Topps football binder reloaded by the Elgin show this Saturday. I don't think I am going to bring out my display cases for the Elgin show, just binders. The display cases will be out Sunday at Gonzaga and I will have loaded in a bunch of new cards. Hope to see you this weekend! Pictured below are my pickups from the Schaumburg show.
