Unique to this show is the fact that a second card show is held simultaneously down the street at a Holiday Inn in Rolling Meadows. Quite a few dealers from the Rolling Meadows show will make an appearance at this show after their show ends. Though, they're all modern card dealers and all seemed to hang out at Tom's table, a mostly modern card dealer. Though Tom had some nice vintage on his table today. I'll be back at the Schaumburg show on July 3, hopefully we'll have more customers. Next week is the Gonzaga Show in Milwaukee and I'm really looking forward to the show. Gonzaga is always solid. I've been loading up on '71s and '72s. I should have a near-set of '73s. I started working on some '67 Philadelphia football tonight. Needless to day, I'll have a ton cards out at the Gonzaga show.
Where was everybody today? Not a whole lot of customers showed up at the mighty Schaumburg card show today. Autograph hounds Bob and Tom couldn't make it. Regular Larry was nowhere to be found. I had a nice spread with four tables today. The Woj picked up some '51 Bowman Cubs. I sold a bunch of my homemade quarter packs. Willie and Tom picked up a bunch of cards for autos. I sold a Red Man to a regular. I sold some 1960s football to another regular. I don't think I sold much else. Some dealers said they made just one sale all day. I, of course, bought quite a few cards, some '70 & '71 baseball, some '70, '78, and '81 football.
